Staff

The producing director.

Theatre Project runs lean. The day-to-day work — booking the season, supporting eight resident companies, fielding 700+ visiting artists a year — sits primarily with the Producing Director.

Chris Pfingsten, Producing Director

Producing Director · Since 2012

Chris Pfingsten

Maryland native, Towson grad, 21 years in Orlando theatre — and the person responsible for 200+ events a year at 45 W. Preston.

Chris returned to Baltimore in 2007 after two decades in Orlando, where he was an actor at Disney World and a charter resident company member of Orlando Theatre Project (OTP). At OTP he served as actor, stage manager, producer, production manager, director, designer, and technical director across more than 45 productions, eventually becoming OTP's General Manager from 2005–2007.

Back in Baltimore, he led marketing and development for the Baltimore Shakespeare Festival and acted in their productions of Every Christmas Story Ever Told!! and Hamlet. In July 2012 he became Theatre Project's Producing Director, and has since scaled the operation to its current rhythm: 200+ performances and related events per year, 12,000+ patrons, 700+ artists.
